She looked deep into his eyes and what she found there was a world of love and infinite goodness. He looked back at her with a promise of unconditional loyalty. You might think we’re talking about the latest romantic film, but actually this emotive scene was acted out between a lady and a dog, no less.

Shedding

Dog shedding occurs in nearly all dogs and is a natural process of eliminating (shedding) dead hair for a couple of reasons – one, to allow a new coat to come in, and two, for seasonal changes in temperature.

The Austrian Kennel Club is experienced in organising big events (two World Dog Shows in 1976 and 1986, two European Dog Shows in 1999 and 2005 and its 100 anniversary in 2009).

Question to the Vet

My dog has an embarrassing problem. He tries to eat the stools of other animals, in particular horses, and sometimes he succeeds – much to my dismay. I am feeding him a quality brand of dog food.

The FEDERATION CYNOLOGIQUE INTERNATIONALE (FCI) is the supreme authority of the canine culture worldwide. The FCI is responsible for safeguarding canine health and international dog activities to enhance the relations between dogs and humans.

Iceland: where cynology is as pure as its nature itself

For many people, visiting Iceland is a dream to become true and that applied to me too. Last summer that dream became reality. Its fascinating nature speaks to everyone’s imagination.

This year, the continental pointers elite had their annual appointment in Zadar, a former Venetian port in the beautiful Dalmatian Coast of Croatia and today a touristic paradise.

FCI Japan International Dog Show which is the annual dog show of the Japan Kennel Club (JKC) headquarters was held in Tokyo over the weekend of Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1, 2012.

From Puerto Rico to the World…

The gardens of the Hotel Dorado Beach were the setting for the first international dog show at which the FCI’s CACIB was awarded, held in Puerto Rico in spring 1980. Around 200 animals competed in this major event, which saw the country join the international cynological community.
